About Me

GymKeys wasn’t built overnight. It was built through struggle, discipline, and an obsession with becoming better.

I grew up in a small town. My parents divorced when I was young, so I don’t have many memories of them together. I stayed with my mom most of the time and visited my dad on weekends. Growing up, I worked with my dad whenever I could so I could save money for the things I wanted. My mom is legally blind, which meant I spent a lot of time at home with very little to do.

Like many kids, I turned to video games. Long hours of gaming, junk food, and little movement slowly caught up to me. Over the years, I gained a lot of weight and became insecure about how I looked. I wore baggy clothes to hide my body and kept my shirt on whenever I could. I hated my reflection.

The Turning Point

In 2020, during 8th grade, I took a health and fitness class where we had to create and follow our own workout plans. That class changed everything. It was the first time I took fitness seriously, even though I didn’t fully understand it yet.

At the time, I weighed around 150 lbs. I made the mistake of starving myself and drastically cutting calories while doing intense workouts. I lost weight fast, too fast. By freshman year of high school, I was down to about 110 lbs. To this day, I regret doing it that way. If I had eaten properly and trained smarter, I know I’d be bigger and in even better shape now.

But that experience taught me something important: how powerful fitness really is.

Falling in Love With the Gym

By freshman year, I was addicted to the gym, in a good way. I spent hours researching how to build muscle and create the physique I always dreamed of. As my transformation became noticeable, friends started asking me how I did it. I began helping them lift, creating workout plans, and teaching them what to eat. ALL FOR FREE.

I hated school. Every day, I was just waiting to go to the gym. Some days, I woke up extremely early to train before school. Since my mom couldn’t drive, I walked everywhere. To school to the gym and etc.

By sophomore year, I knew exactly what I wanted to do: be a fitness trainer.

Betting on Myself

I left in-person school and switched to online classes so I could dedicate my time to becoming certified as a personal trainer and continuing my education. I graduated early, finished my training, and started coaching people seriously.

I posted on Snapchat and Instagram offering personal training to make money and start building a life for myself. I helped many clients transform their bodies, but I wanted more. I didn’t just want to help people look good physically. I wanted them to feel confident in what they wore too.

I’ve always cared about style. I was the kid who made sure every outfit matched and I still am. But I couldn’t find gym clothes that truly fit my vision.

That’s where GymKeys was born.

Building GymKeys

GymKeys started as a clothing brand with a deeper purpose:

I wanted to create apparel that inspires you while also giving you the tools to build your dream physique for free. I’ve invested thousands of dollars into fitness education, design, mockups, and product quality so GymKeys could stand for something real.

To fund the brand, I worked at Menards, saving every dollar I could. Many nights, I stayed up late working on GymKeys. Designing, learning, planning, and improving while everyone else slept.

After a few clothing drops, I saved enough money to buy a motorcycle. Not long after, I lost my license due to reckless riding and speeding. That moment forced me to slow down and refocus.

With no way to get around except walking, I put everything into GymKeys.

I turned my bedroom into a full-time office, surrounded by inventory. I reinvested every dollar back into the brand so I could offer multiple clothing options from the start.

More Than Clothing

As I continued learning, I discovered coding. Since I had already built the GymKeys website myself, I decided to take things further.

That’s when I created the Instant Workout Plan. A free tool where you answer a few questions, click generate, and receive:

A personalized workout plan

Nutrition guidance

Water intake recommendations

Key fitness tips

No catch. No paywall.
